system restore errors

Hi there i recently installed norton systemworks 2003 on
my pc had major probs with virus updates-auto protect so
unistalled it.
since then i have not been able to do a system restore
i get a message with a cross in the left hand corner
saying that no actions have been taken try a different
time-date to restore your computer i have tried different
times-dates but still the same error message any ideas?

Debbs;
There may be corrupted data in system Restore.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.
