system restore error

I wanted to set a system restore point, but when I go to start system restore
I get an error saying run a dll as an app.

Anyone have any answers?
 
Hi Steve,

Go to Start - Run and paste the following command, then press enter.

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

What happens? Please post the exact error message.

When I posted this message I found another question petaining to restore. I
followed the directions to reinstall it, and that helped. So the problem was
solved. Thanks for your response.
