System Restore disabled my Office XP apps

Hello, I recently did a system restore to fix a color display issue I
created when I installed a game for my kid. Before I did the restore I
deleted my XP Office Application (including the service pack updates for xp
office ). After I restored the system I tried to launch MS Word and a
windows installer window poped up with an error 1635: This patch could not be
opened . Verify the patch package exists and that you can access it." I then
tried to go into the uninstall program to remove XP Office Professional
without sucess becuase it couldn't remove the update attached to it. If I
roll back the restore I can install/deinstall XP Office including the
patches without a problem. Is there any way I can get around this issue?
thanks.

Kelly,

I checked out the link for this error and I don't even have XP Plus!
installed on my PC (or at least its not in the add/remove programs). This
error comes up when I try to launch my Office XP apps (like MS Word) after I
did a restore to fix another issue with the way my apps are displaying.
Anyway, why can't I just completely delete Office XP from my computer to
include the updates and restore a few days back and have the apps work? I
know they worked just fine on the date I am trying to restore back to.
thanks..
