System Restore - Corrupt local profile

I tried system restore a few days ago and got the message..insuffient
security rights...or currupt local profile
I checked acount users and adm. was set up right. I ran McAfee and it came
back clean...I then ran Microsoft beta virus scan and it found Win
32/NewMalware.M virus...Program said it cleaned it!!
I tried re-booting in normal...safe mood and in CMD Net start...with all I
keep getting the same message and it only opens a temp windows for me

How can I recover Documents I had? Before I have to do a complet restore of
the machine or can I?

Hi Frank.

Turn the machine off, just pull the plug. The more you mess with the drive,
the better the chances that you harm or lose data currently on the drive.
Slave it in a working system, recover data from there before attempting to
fix the system.
