System restore and hard drive with two partitions

Hi, i have an Acer 8920 laptop which has a 320 Gb HD. In computer this
capacity shows up as 2 drives (c: acer and d:data). When configuring system
restore should i create restore points for both drives or just the drive
with windows on it (C:)?

My Toshiba has C: for Vista and D: for Toshiba. I think the D: drive is for
Toshiba firmware. Shouldn't I System Backup it too? I do take image
backups for both drives. I have done System Restores where both logical
drives were restored successfully.

I'm assuming RJ's situation is the same as mine: His C: for Acer firmware
and D: for his OS. Maybe I'm assuming too much and C: is really Vista and D:
is Docs, Pics, etc. Perhaps he can clarify that.

Thanks for the replies. My C: is for Vista and everything else as far as i
can see. The D: partition doesn't seem to get used and i don't know how to
save photos, documents etc to it.

The D: partition is almost surely the "recovery" or "restore" partition that
can be used to restore your computer to factory-new state. You should check
your manual, the documentation that came with your computer, or the
manufacturer's web site to confirm this.

How large is the D partition?

Hi, the D partition is 138Gb and its always got 134Gb free.

Would you like to simplify things and be rid of it so that all of your
space would be given to "C"?
