system restore - ad aware

I am continually unable to use system restore as often earlier restore points
are unable to be accessed because of some files having been removed.
I am almost certain that it is the files removed by ad aware se (the free
version) .
Has anybody else had this problem

Adaware doesn't do this, and that's not your problem.

Unfortunately System Restore sometimes gets corrupted. Read her

Hi Mikey,

What is the exact error message?

Here are some troubleshooting tips for System Restore in Windows XP.

Go to Start - Run and type eventvwr.msc and press enter.
Click on System in the left pane.
Click the gray title "Source" at the top of the source name column in
the right pane to sort by source name, look for "sr" and "srservice".
Double click on each of these events, then click on the button below
the two arrows in the upper right corner. This will copy the event
information to the clipboard. Paste the information for each of the
two event here. This will help us in diagnosing the problem.

If its not ad aware the only other unusual item on my pc lately has been the
installation of a photodex self created screensaver which didnt install
properly and i had to enter a double name for some reason to correct it -
could this have been the problem? eg mikey name.scr instead of mikey.scr
which did resolve the problem ( the scr originally came in instead of the no
screensaver selected
