More than the processor, to a point, memory will have a greater impact on
performance for XP. I am running XP Pro on a PIII 600-E with no trouble at
all. That includes Office 2003 apps, Outlook 2003, and FrontPage 2003. It
all seems reasonably responsive.
I have 384MB of RAM in my system, and I feel that would have to be the
minimum required for the best XP performance, which you would want with
slower processors like mine.

fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup
doesn't get to see answers from others in another newsgroup.
If you must send the same message to more than one newsgroup,
please do so by crossposting (but only to a *few* related
