Does anyone know how I can get the stytem recovery disk
for recovery using the CD? My Windows XP Professional does
not boot.

I have never backed up my data or created a system
recovery disk, therefore I do not have one. Is there one
that i can download from the web?

Thanks.

Cheers
Jack

It's completely amazing to me that you have never backed up - hope you've
learned a lesson from this.

The Windows XP CD is bootable, i.e., you can boot your computer from it. The
CD contains the recovery console to help you possibly fix whatever is
preventing Windows from starting. You can also use the XP CD to reinstall
Windows.

If you do have a Windows CD, don't try to boot from it if you think it may
be a 'recovery CD'. These are designed to erase everything on your hard disk
and reinstall the software you had when your computer left the factory. You
will permanently lose everything.

Tell us exactly what happens when you start you computer. You may have a
hardware problem which can be fixed without needing to reinstall Windows.
