When I right click the My Computer icon on the XP desktop I
no longer get System Properties. Instead I get My Computer
Properties. How do I fix this? --David

That means you are opening the properties of a normal shortcut. Delete it then:
Right click Desktop, Properties, Desktop tab, Customize Desktop button
Tick My Computer, Click OK twice.
