System.MDW Compatability

Will an old system.mdw file from Access 97 work in Access 2002 and 2003. I
converted databases from 97 to both 2002 and 2003 and the system.mdw seemed
to work in 2003, but not in 2002. Would appreciate feedback. Thanks.

Which .mdb format are you using?

I believe that the Access 97 format works in Access 2000. Access 2002 and
2003 use the 2000 format by default, but they can also use the Access 2002
format (2003 is the same as 2002).

I have only secured my Access 2002 databases (2000 format) directly. To be
sure, convert the Access 97 databases before securing them.
