system locks up

I'm running windows XP home edition on a lap top and it
keeps locking up. I was able to get in with safe mode,
removed some programs I thought could be a problem and it
didn't help. I then tried to reinstall windows xp and the
system just keeps locking up. HELP, what do I do now.

That isn't enough information to get a specific answer. However, laptops
often run too hot or the fans fail, and that could cause your problem.
The RAM might also be bad. You can test the RAM with Memtest86 from
www.memtest86.com. If your laptop is still under warranty, definitely
call the mftr.'s tech support.
