System Information showing 2 CPUs on ASUS P4P800

I just installed MS Windows 2000 SP4 on a system with a
new ASUS P4P800 Deluxe motherboard. Everything seems to
be working well, except the System Information and Device
Manager is reporting 2 Processors installed when only one
Intel P4 exists. I have applied the latest BIOS to the
system. This is causing problems with some software that
won't install because it does not support systems with
mutiple CPUs. Is there a specific driver or a change
that I can apply to make the system report correctly?

Is there a way to make windows 2000 System Information
report correctly?

You are using an Intel P4 with Hyper-threading. The Hyper-
threading makes a single P4 look like two P4 CPUs.
Disable Hyper-threading to have only one CPU reported.
