system info

On my Toshiba notebook Satellite A15-S127, XP SP2, I am not able to get
system info. When I try get the message "Can't collect information. A
network error occurred in connecting to Windows Management Instrumentation.
Ensure that your network connection is functioning properly." The message
makes no sense since I am only looking for information on this particular
computer. In any case, I get the same message regardless of whether I am
connected to the network or not. I have tried everything I could think of,
including replacing msinfo32.exe and msinfo.dll, (being careful of the
version number), making sure all the proper services are running, making
sure "on this computer" is selected on the system info dialog box - nothing
works. Any ideas? Thanks.
