Someone asked this very question yesterday afternoon...
I have just upgraded my ram on my athlon 1.4 meg
computer. I installed two 512 ddr pc2100 ram chips.
when I install only one windows sees it just fine and in
the system info box it lists my ram as 512. when I load
the second chip I still only see 512 through windows but
when I start the computer it sees 1 gig as the bios is
loading.
