System Idle Process

All of a sudden my System Idle Process under Task Manger is using 90-98% of
my CPU when there is nothing running. Every program I Open or try to run it
jumps to 100 %.
Have done the following
1. Virus Scan with Panda Titanium 2006
2. Spyware Blaster
3. Adaware
Not finding any problems.
Any Ideas ?

The word "idle" doesn't take on any special meaning here so if you are
having performance problems, system idle process is not the cause.

The idle process is what runs when nothing else is going on, so no
problem there with a high percentage. What jumps to 100%?

It's not "all of a sudden." It has always done that.

"System Idle Process" is not any problem at all. That's just the name for
what the system is doing when it's not doing anything. It's there to make
the total add up to 100%

The System Idle Process doesn't do anything, its just what the cpu does
when its not doing anything. If the system idle process is at (90-98)%
it doesn't mean your processor is (90-98)% busy with the system idle
process hogging it,thus it's actually 2% to 10% busy.
