Hi,

I guess "System Idle Process" is to maintain the CPU temperature. An I righ?
This process goes high when any other process hangs. Why its so?

Can some one explain the about "System Idle Process" and also give good
links about this topic.

Thanks and Regards.

System Idle Process is the amount of time the processor is
idle. Nothing to do with temperature.

If your other process hangs then it must still be letting
the processor do something (the processor is idle) and not
keeping the processor busy (System Idle Process would be
low)

Greetings --

Break out a dictionary and look up the word "idle," sometime. The
"System Idle Process" metric is the amount/percentage of time that
your CPU has *nothing* to do. A reading of 98-99% is generally
considered a good thing, and readings above 90% are normal. Think of
it like a car's engine idling in your driveway before you place the
car in gear.
