System has become sluggish

3.06 / 1 gig / running windows xp pro. Are there some recent Upgrades that
could be the cause. I have checked for virus and all other causes I can
think about. It's just does not seem as snappy. Opening apps and dirs etc.

Have you searched your system for spyware? Also have you
defraged your hard drive lately? Just a couple of things
you may NOT have thought about.

I defrag regularly and run ad aware. I guess I could try spybot
