Dave

Hi folks,

I'm having a problem with what i can only assume is my system fonts.
recently, i'm not sure exactly when but i only began noticing
yesterday (i'm sure it has to do with any number of changes i made
yesterday), certain tabs of the properties dialogs of any programs are
showing boxes instead of letters. please see an example here:

does anyone have any idea why this may be happening? it's never on
all the tabs, only one or two of any given program. i'm just at a
loss. any help is appreciated. i'm running microsoft xp media center
edition version 2002 service pack 2.

My sisters had the same problem, but I forget what I did to fix. I believe I
copied the font folder from a working pc to the corrupted folder. Or you
could try a system restore to before the problem.

Look in c:\windows\fonts and see how many fonts are left....? I believe her
folder only had 3 fonts left.

Thanks for the help, Shaun. Actually, after some digging online I
solved the problem. The xpsp2res.dll file in the system32 folder was
the arabic language version. i replaced with the English version and
everything was corrected.

Thanks,
Dave
