I am using XP Professional. Can anyone tell me how to rename a system
folder in "C:\Documents and Settings\ ? There must be some way, in the

It is my personal user folder.

In that case just create a new user with the name you desire and copy the
files over.......

In this case that won't work as I need to replace it. The only way that
would work is if I could delete it. To my knowledge that would not be
possible.

Make the new user, copy the files and then delete the original user.

I have tried deleting the folder and it does not allow that. The user does
not show up under user accounts either.

So, is there some way to simply change the name of the folder?

Hi Bob,

Not possible. Create another user and copy the profile.

Well if the user doesn't appear in Users (I assume you are logged on as
Administrator and looking in Control panel-Users or Administrative
Tools-Computer management-Users and groups) then there is something VERY
strange with your set up. You should be able to see ALL users that are set
up on the machine.
