Above is an error that I receive everytime I perform a backup using my new
Seagate FreeAgent Desktop 250 Gig USB 2 External Hard Drive. I am using
Acronis True Image Version 10 to create a full image and then incremental
backups.

Previously, I did this, but burned the backup to CD's.

According to Seagate's website, they acknowledge a problem resulting in
Event 51 warnings, but claim it is not their drive causing the warnings.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you

I think I found a workaround to my problem. It's not perfect, but does
appear to stop the System Event 57 message. I turned off my cable modem, shut
down firewall, AVG anti virus, and WinPatrol. Then mounted and unmounted the
image, stopped the device and unplugged from computer.

There was no Warning in the System Event Viewer.

If anyone has a better answer, please let me know.
