I logged on to my computer today & this message keeps
popping up - IP address conflict with another system on
the network.

How do I correct this problem?

Perhaps someone has hooked up another DHCP server that is set to use the
same IP range?

How many computers do you have on the network? Another computer, other than
the current one you are logged on, happens to have/get the same IP address
as your current computer. Check to see that no two computers have the same
IP address.

I only have 1 computer. This is my home computer.

What kind of network are you on? What device/server is doing DHCP? What kind
of Internet connection do you have? We'll need a lot more information in
order to help you.

How will I know if this has been done? I know that I
haven't hooked anything up to my computer. Do you know
how I can check the IP on my DHCP server?

Are you connected to the internet via broadband? Your ISP may have
assigned to IPs on the same subnet.

You could try this:
start/run/cmd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

This will release your current DHCP assigned IP and request a new
one; if your current address is assigned elsewhere, it shouldn't renew
and you should get an IP address assigned nowhere else.
