system crash

Whenever I run Disk Defragmenter my computer crashes and
reboots. I receive no error messages. I have disabled
Norton AniVirus Auto-Protect, turned off the screen saver,
conducted a clean boot and ran defragmenter, ran Error
Check on Drive C (no errors found), and closed all
programs in the taskbar. The problem persists.

Try removing the swap-file. MAybe it works afterwards.

Mark, did you try running defrag in Safe Mode?
