System clock will not sync.

My system clock is an hour behind and when I attempt to manually adjust the
time and tell it to update, I get the following error message, "An error
occurred while Windows was synchronizing with time.nist.gov" or any of the
other time servers, why? And, why doesn't my system keep the time current
when I manually change the time? It continues to reset back to an hour
behind.

The time servers aren't working properly.
I got a freeware program called 'Atomic Clock Sync' and copied the URL for
one of its servers into my registry
Add 132.163.4.102 as a new line to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/DateTime/Servers
it will then appear in the pull-down menu for Internet Time.

Mike,
This is great! I had installed Atomic Clock Sync a few years ago on all my
pc's because the Windows Time Sync would never work, but I always had to run
it as a program. BTW - I also replaced the normal desktop clock with
TClockEx from http://users.iafrica.com/d/da/dalen.

But, why doesn't my system clock keep the modified setting when I manually
reset it, why does it continue to reset back to previous hour lag?

Maybe it has something to do with Daylight Savings Time?
Control Panel | Date & Time | Time Zone Tab | Check the box for DST

Maybe the reset issue is related to Daylight Savings Time?

I am still plagued with my system clock remaining an hour behind and can not
get it to hold the true correct time no matter what I do. How can I correct
this. If I adjust the time, it will reset back to an hour behind... I've
changed the daylight savings time to standard time, changed my location to
other than Central Time Zone and it will reset back to Central time... I'm
really getting annoyed with it now...
