Manual update of internet time

Guest

Since my last XP update I am unable to manually update/synchronize Internet
time.
I get the message " An error occurred while Windows was synchronizing with
time.nist.gov" This is regardless of the server selected.
I have the same problem on my laptop.
After startup the INTERNET TIME tab on the clock shows that there had been a
successful synchronization at power on. From this I assume NTP and the
firewall are OK.
Any suggestions?

There have been problems with that for some months now.
A list of the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) time servers that are

Just type in the combo listbox.
No registry editing needed.

Thanks but i don't think its the time server since the automatic synchronization works---its just the MANUAL "Update Now" action that seems to fail.
