Is there some kind of built in system check in XP. I don't have Norton
Systemworks anymore.
 
Windows XP has a built-in error-checking utility:

Open the Command Prompt and type: CHKDSK /F , and hit enter.
Answer "yes" and reboot your computer.

1. Open XP's "Help and Support".
2. Look under "Pick a Help topic".
3. Click on "Performance and Maintenance"
