System Cant find the Macro ExcelPrecedents

On the formula auditing toolbar there is the Trace Precedents tool. When I
press that I get the error "The Macro ExcelPrecedents can't be found" I get a
similar error when I attempt to trace dependents in this manner. However,
when I select Trace Precedents, or Trace Dependents, from the Formula
Auditing menu I don't get the error. Has anyone seen this before? Is the
solution to re-install Excel

If this is a troubleshooting issue with Excel, then it can likely be fixed
using the detect and repair feature from Excel's Help menu.

Thanks. I didn't think of that. I fixed the problem by going to tools
customize and dragging the Trace Precedents icon to the Formula auditing
toolbar then deleting the existing one. I did the same with Trace Dependents.
They are both working for me now.
