How did you cancel these default shares?

Open my computer -> Right click 'C' disk and select 'Do not share this
folder'.
Seems it's not the correct way.

Thanks./shan

By design, the share will be recreated the next time the server service is
started, such as on a reboot. Why do you want to disable these shares?
They're good to have, and as long as you aren't making everyone on your
network an administrator, there isn't much issue having them shared. If
you're on a stand alone computer not on a network, you could just disable
the server service.

But, if you want to disable these shares, C$, D$, etc., which will also
include the admin$ share, add/edit this registry value:

HKLM\System\CurrentControlset\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters
AutoShareWks = 0 (DWORD)

That'll prevent the shares from being recreated after you do the same thing
you did before with the "stop sharing."

But, unless you have a really good reason for disabling these shares, I
wouldn't do it. Taking away access to data isn't the best way to protect
it. Instead, you should control the permissions to the data itself. There
are always other ways to find access to things, and if there's nothing there
to deny you once you do, there wasn't any point in attempting to secure the
data.

Thanks.

I have changed Registry value and disable c$ d$ admin$ shares now.Seems it
works no proplem.
