Sysprep with different hardware and Ghost question

K

-keevill-

I have successfully used Norton Ghost on Win2K to prepare images which I
have used over the last couple of years to roll out machines. I have been
using Sysprep with an inf file containing various lines which have enabled
me to use the same image across different hardware inc different
motherboards.
Now I am using WinXP Pro and I understand that there is a new version of
sysprep specifically for WinXP. I wonder about the inf file which I have
been using for Win2K. I assume I have to have another one for the new
version of Sysprep with WinXP. Can anyone help with this? I need to be able
to have this image working on different hardwares if possible.

Generally, a new version of Sysprep and related deployment tools and
documentation are released with each new OS and service pack release. The
latest release for Windows XP, covering SP2, SP1, and RTM, can be downloaded
here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...91-ac56-4665-949b-beda3080e0f6&DisplayLang=en

Your Sysprep.inf file should work with few or no changes with Windows XP
Pro, but you'll want to review the "ref.chm" help file included in the above
download to make sure.
