Hi all
I'm struggling with sysprep and I'm going round in circles !
I've created a base build of XP SP2 (which I've imaged already for
safekeeping).
I now want to sysprep it, then image it using Symantec ImageCenter.
If I do this, when I start the machine up, it runs mini-setup as expected,
asks for machine name/local admin password, then completes.
Unfortunately, if I then log in, I find that some things I'd explicitly
removed pre-sysprep have returned! Namely, the region settings revert to
US, and the QOS network service has reappeared. Then it dawned on me that
Windows was using the 'typical' settings, so I need to manually specify them
in the sysprep.inf file.
I've used Setup Manager to create the sysprep.inf file. I've specified the
regional settings (UK!) which should be fine. However, if I manually
specify the network settings (instead of 'typical') I'm not given the option
of selecting anything other than the MS Client.
The only network settings I want to install are MS Client, TCP/IP and File
and Printer Sharing. TCP/IP settings are all default settings. I most
certainly DO NOT want the QOS service !!
Any advice on what I need to do to get sysprep to get my network settings
correct would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
