sysprep and sp2

I have used the sysprep utility that I use for WXP SP1 systems on a system
with WXP SP2 and it worked fine. According to the docs and discussions, it
is not suppose to work. What exactly is the problem with using the older
sysprep utility?

Without doing much research, it's probably because there's new entries for
sysprep.inf and unattend.txt files to modify how setup runs with the new
Security Center, etc. Since this is a feature that was introduced with
Service Pack 2, it has its own registry entries and so on that the Service
Pack 1 sysprep wouldn't be aware of. I'm sure the differences are listed in
a chm or a readme that came with the downloaded Service Pack 2 sysprep
package.

That's right, if I recall correctly, there are new settings to handle things
like the Windows Firewall, the pop-up blocker, basically the new features
only available in SP2.
