SYSPREP and SP2

Is MS working on a Sysprep that will work with an updated SP2 image instead a
fresh build with SP2 slipstreamed???

So I assume that is a no???

Why??? is it only documented in the README.TXT in the Deploy.cab that states
the following:

* You cannot run Sysprep.exe on an installation of Windows XP SP1 that
was upgraded to Windows XP SP2 using Update.exe. Sysprep can be run
only on integrated ("slipstreamed") Windows installations.

Sysprep for SP2 really should check for this and not go on if it finds the
OS has been updated not slipstream... And this really needs to be documented
in more detail on the MS website...

Thanks for you help...

Hello,
The readme is no longer correct. That decision was changed so this is
considered a supported scenario now.
This is the article that was supposed to rectify the text but it's not
correct either working to get this changed,

888371 The Readme.txt file that is included with the Windows XP Service
Pack 2
