Sys Restore

I

Isaac Gutman, M.D

Hi All,
I am trying to restore my XP2 to an earlier date but - it is a no go, tells
me "unsuccessful".
Any idea what to do? (BTW - it is enabled).
TIA, Isaac.

Have you tried an even earlier date? If it still comes up with
'unsuccessful' it maybe that the system restore files are corrupt. If this
is the case i'm afraid there is nothing you can really do to restore the
system back.

If you have installed software that has caused a problem and that is the
reason you need to restore, you might try uninstalling the software itself.

In my experience when System Restore fails there is nothing that can be done
to recover previously saved points other than to purge them all and start
over. However Bert Kinney MS-MVP has an excellent resource covering all
aspects of System Restore including troubleshooting information

What is the problem prompting you to try System Restore?
Let's see if there is another way to resolve it.

Sys Res is working now - but only as of yesterday ! That means that I can
not restore any previous point although they do appear on the calendar of
the system restore window.
Do you guys think that there is a way to "resurrect these vanished points ?
And again - TIA, Isaac.

No Isaac.

System Restore Points are only really of any use
for a short period after their creation. If the computer
is used regularly an alert user should notice if something
is significantly wrong.

Hi Isaac,

When you say working, do you mean SR is creating restore points
automatically?
What happens if you try to restore to a newly created restore point?

Hi
Don't worry this is bug from Microsoft from the beggining but they don't
want to repair becouse from there they can watch the peoples.
Like Antispyware from Micorosft when the status bar run like crazy from left

And when you computer go killed from Microsoft System they will not pay the
computer you need to buy new.bECOSUE THEY DON'T REPAIR THEY BUGS .
AND ANOTHER THING THAT BILL GATES SAID TO NEWS THAT NEED MORE SECURITY HEY
PEOPLES LISTEN NOW.WHY MICROSOFT DONT PAY FOR EVERY COMPUTER WHO MICROSOFT
DESTROY LIKE HACKERS WHO ENTER AND DESTROY EVERY THING.AND MICROSOFT ARE
CLEAN BECPSUE THEY HAVE MONEY AND WHAT WILL HAPPEND IF EVERY HACKER HAVE
MONEY THEN MICOROST WILL GO AND THE TRASH.they can make fast GUI menu color
who will use less memory buy not becouse they want the peoples to buy more
memory for more money and with that they will eat and will drive cars.sHIT
Microsoft Peoples eVERYONE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH Mircosoft and they don't doing
nothing they stay in they office everyday and eat Croiasant and when someone
want questions they said him that is time for Eat.
