Sys Restore Wizard Doesn't Work?

I start the System Restore Wizard and the only bold date is today's date. I
would like to restore it to a point a month ago so I click the < button to go
to the previous month and nothing happens. Doesn't go to the next month
either. What am I doing wrong if anything?

there are no restore points.....! sometimes the restore points are deleted
if the restore feature is turned off. sometimes, the are removed by certain
cleanup utilities too... what were you attempting to resolve with a restore?

Thanks, that's what I figured was going on. I'm trying to end slow system
response, slow, Windows Explorer response. I work in film/graphics and some
folders don't show thumbnail images. Just sluggish response. I used the
startup option to minimize the number of programs. I'm going to reinstall the
main software after I backup my files.

yeh, i think simply turning on your restore will then create the restore
points. but may not help if they are consistently being removed by one of
your softwares. you probably should figure out which one it may be and
exclude the restore files. possibly there is an option to skip them as well.
if you feel that the problem may ly within windows and is not user fault,
then i would go ahead and do a repair windows. this will ensure "all" your
vital system files are working, including your restore feature. By the way,
did you happen to delete some of your graphics and were hoping that the
restore would help you get them back? I think there is some freeware that
helps recover deleted graphics and pics......
