SyncToy Beta 2.0

I doubt this is new in the Beta 2.0, but now that I have it, I don't
have the previous level to test this:

I'm running a hugely long backup pair - a large directory on a network
drive. While the results window is open, I can minimize and restore the
results window, but I can find no way of minimizing the main SyncToy
window. It's been hogging centre stage of my desktop for about two days now.

I understand why the main window in intractable; the results window is
application modal. Might it be a good idea to minimize the main window
when the results window is minimized? You probably couldn't get it back
if this happened though.

If I still had the "Show Desktop" icon in my quick launch tray, I could
use that, but I removed it some time ago, and don't know how else to get
that function.

I've definitely encountered this problem in SyncToy v.1.4, so I guess it's
still unresolved.

If you're using Vista, you can get the "Show Desktop" icon back into your
Quick Launch by dragging it from
"C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\"
to the Quick Launch area. If you go to that location manually (instead of
copying and pasting), you may have to show hidden files and folders. I
imagine that the location is similar in XP, with the exception of the
"AppData" folder being in "Documents and Settings," or something.

I don't think the "Show Desktop" icon will help you much if you are running
Windows XP.

I managed to resurrect that icon on my PC some time ago (don't ask me how!),
and yes, it does clear the desktop of everything. But, as soon as you restore
*any* window, the two SyncToy windows reappear along with it. Grrrrr!

Well, that helps me anyway. I also managed to get "Show Desktop" back,
but I hadn't got round to trying SyncToy. You've saved me the bother
(and the frustration) so thank you!
