Ok...I'm not an outlook expert by anymeans, but I'm the only one in my office
thats trying to figure it out...lol...HELP!!!!

OK! I work at a university that is on an exchange. In my department,
everyone has their own calendars in outlook, our department Sec. maintains
the Departmental calendar. I understand how to share the calendar from her
outlook to everyone elses. No problem there. However, It doesn't make a lot
of sense for people to have to jump back and forth between 2 calendars before
scheduling an event. I understand how to use icalendar to "import"/email
appointments to be uploaded into their personal calendars, but my challenge
is...If she changes an event is doesn't update in everyone elses calendar
automatically. Is there a way to accomplish both? Do have a "shared
calendar" that merges with the person's personal calendar, and still updates
like a shared calendar?

What version of outlook?

On the scheduling bit - use the group calendar or scheduling tab to see
everyone's free/busy before scheduling.

On updating appointments - one solution is to either create them as meeting
requests or use delegates so she can open their calendar to update. Meeting
requests is easier for more than one attendee although I use them to add
things to one calendar too - my husband's outlook is configured to
autoaccept meeting requests and I usually remember to not request a reply
(Actions menu).

Outlook 2003

I guess we could do that...thats just going to be alot of emails for
updates. I wish there was a better way.
