Is there a way by which I could synchronize files in a local directory in an
XP Pro computer with a removable device, such as a USB key. I would like to
be able to work in a disconnected fashion on a file in a (synchronized)
directory in either the device or the computer, and have them syncronize
when connected.

Thanks for your help.

Dunno about synchronizing, but I do know that working on a file mounted
on a USB key is IMO looking for trouble, particularly with MS Office
documents. I've had to recover files, or attempt to recover files, from
key disks for several users using several different major brands of USB
keys disks. The corruption seems to occur most frequently when the key
is removed with an open document on the disk, an action that is far too
easy with USB keys and floppy disks.
