Synchronizing programs

I have a program called AllwaySync. It's supposed to make one folder equal
to another. It seems to add whatever is missing from EITHER folder. Is
there a way to keep it from changing the "master" folder, and change only
the "slave" folder?

It should be noted that there will often be files in the slave folder that
should be removed. It's noot always a matter of adding files to the slave.
