Synchronising Outlook

I frequently synch. my two PC's by moving my Outlook *.pst file between my desktop and laptop (and vice versa). I do this by exporting the file in Outlook, coyping it across to the other PC then importing it to Outlook there. However, every time I do this, I get a different view (Preview Pane active, my "To" field disappears etc.) I can obviosly go through and reset these for each folder but that is so very tedious as I have dozens of folders. Does anyone know how I can move the file without lsoing these settings ?
