Synchronise

A

Alan Davies

I run a stand alone version of Outlook 2003 SP2, with Win XP Pro

I do not use any Exchange functions as all my mail is POP3

Outlook regularly synchronises folders - which is slowing my PC down.
Why does this happen - is it necessary - can I stop it.

Also: I've now got 2 sets of Personal Folders visible, which I find
irritating, how can I get rid of one?

TIA

I think 'synchronizing' is just the nomenclature Outlook uses for a lot of
folder operations, including downloading. I see the same message and just
use POP3 servers.

Is the other set of folders your archive?
