Synchronising Outlook with Nokia Phone

I have a Nokia 9500 Communicator phone. When I Synchronise it with Outlook on
my PC, using Nokia PC Suite, the country code and area code, as is entered in
Outlook, is also transferred to the phone with the phone numbers. This is
fine if I want to make an international call but if I pull up a phone number
within Australia and press dial, it is uncuccessfull as the phone also dials
the country code for Australia first. Nokia claims that this is a default of
Outlook and not the phone. Is there a way to perform a Synchronisation so
that the country code is not afixed to each phone number

That would be a question for the makers of your synchronization software,
not Outlook.
Outlook must create a consistent database. It is up to synchronization
routines to use that data to create what the phone needs.

Your GSM phone will dial all phone numbers (and that's including local
numbers) correctly as long as long as you have the phone numbers in the
correct format. The format is like this: +ccc (aaa) nnn, where ccc is the
country code, aaa is the area code and nnn is the local number. You have to
include the "+" at the beginning. If you make sure you enter your phone
numbers this way in Outlook, then they should get synced correctly to your
phone. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the problem is that
you haven't included the "+" in your phone numbers.
