How do I synchronize my haome PC Office 2007 to my network connected lap Top.
Surely millions of people do it everyday - how come I can't find an easy

1)
Right click on your "My Documents" folder on the desktop and select
"Properties." Click on the "Sharing" tab. Click the two check boxes below
that read "Share this folder on the network" and "Allow users to change my
files." Set a name for the folders.
2)
Be sure you know your desktop computer's name. If you don't, right-click on
"My Computer" and select "Properties" Click on the "Computer Name" tab and
make note of it.
3)
On your laptop, open "My Documents" and then "go up one level." Once there,
right click on "My Documents" and set the location as
"\\DesktopComputerName\DesktopFolderShareName"

You will now be able to access all those documents from your laptop and make
changes. If changes are made when away from your home network, they will
automatically be synchronized when a connection with your home network is
found.

First of all MS does NOT support using a pst file across a network.
Secondly Offline files does NOT synchronise pst files by default (for that
very reason) - you have to edit the registry to allow that,
and thirdly, speaking from experience, using a pst file in off-line mode is
the fastest and most frequent way to a corrupt pst file.
It's NOT a good idea to do that at all. You need to take backups several
times a day....

The OP asked about Office; not Outlook only even though they posted the
message in the Outlook forum. For nearly all other Office software, the sync
will happen.

What the heck does this have to do with Outlook?
