Synch with Smartphone Workaround???

As I'm sure you figured out, BCM won't sync with Smartphones yet, it will
synch with normal Windows CE devices via the download, but not Smartphones.
I'm trying to get my Business Contacts to download onto the smartphone when I
synch via Active Synch.

Windows Mobile (Smartphones) will synch to Outlook Calendars, Contacts and
Tasks today. Since the Business Contacts are technically stored in a
different database (inherent product design), they won't synch with a
smartphone. So, I am simply creating a record for each person in both my
Contacts and Business Contacts databases...that way when I synch I will be
sure to have all my "Business Contacts" phone/address information on my
smartphone.

This won't bring over any other BCM stuff, however it seems to solve my
problem of not having my Business Contacts on my cellphone.

Anyone know any negatives to this workaround I came up with?

Derek,

The only negative with your workaround that I can think of is that obviously
you have to make sure that whenever you may edit any data in your Business
Contact records that you maintain the discipline to also remember to manually
edit the same in the corresponding Outlook Contact record. If this little
procedural step (hassle) is overlooked you obviously won't be carrying
around the most accurate contact information on your smartphone.

BTW, which smartphone model are you using? My guess is the Audiovox that is
available through Cingular. There is such a sweet resolution screen on that
bugger!

Good insight - I actually hadn't thought about that; maybe it was just too
logical :)

Yeah, I use the Audiovox - good phone; wish it would synch both Business
Contacts and Normal Outlook Contacts onto my phone though - bummer.
