symbol-looks like a backwards P is all over my doc. How do I remo

All of a sudden, this symbol ¶ (perhaps a paragraph symbol?) and a few
others, is all over all my word documents when I view them. I must have hit
something, how do I remove this?

On Standard toolbar click on" ¶ " . Alos you can use Tools\options\formatting
marks and uncheck all six checkboxes.
