+ symbol dissappearing on phone numbers

I dont know what you have done, but mine is doing the same too. Nothing has been changed on this machine. and it has been working fine for ages.

Maybe a MS update has screwed something up

Please have a look in the control panel to the telephone and modem
options.

If all seems ok you can add the "+" with the tool EditContacts:
