Symbol dialog box

While typing I chose the Insert Menu and went to click on the Symbol dialog box but just prior to clicking a bold hyphen appeared and then when clicking on symbol dialog box my Symbol menu disappeared. Does anyone know who to get it back?
 
You have invoked the "destructive cursor" by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Hyphen. See

on restoring the Symbol menu command.
