Symantic Antivirus Corporate 8.1 Client MSI for Software Inst. GPO?

TS

Symantec used to have a pre-made client msi package in verison 7.5,
but now they require you to make your own when you upgrade to 8.0 and
8.1.
I see many posts saying packages created with Symantec's included
packager don't work. (Unable to extract deployment information from
the package. Run validation etc.)
Is there anyone who has got this to work and how?

Last time I've seen them they didn't work, and furthermore, there was a
reference in a Symantec's documentation (for SAV 8.0 + ) stating that the
..msi package should not work and intended for testing and developers only.
