Symantec nightmare

I just loaded Norton Systemworks 2003 into my Aunt's laptop. I kept coming
up with an OBC invalid page fault in kernel32.DLL...you know...one of those!
So, I decided to uninstall Systemworks from the uninstall in the control
panel as stated by Symantec and it also comes up with an NMAIN invalid page
fault. This is like being stuck on the mountain...can't go up and can't get
down. Can anyone help me uninstall this beast or can you direct me to the
right newsgroup for help? Symantec is out for the weekend and I'm sure with
the worm they are swamped anyway.
I appreciate any help...Thanks

I posted this once today and I can't find it in this newsgroup, so here it
is again!

.
Use the " msconfig.exe" tool to select a clean boot up.
Click the start, run, and type that in, and then select
the startup tab, and uncheck all startup program items
there, and reboot. Then if any thing is running in your
botttom right system tray, right click that icon and close
or exit out all other running programs. Then try to
uninstall that Norton product. Or even try the uninstall
from booted into safe mode. Also from those errors it
sounds like your PC may have some bad RAM memory, so run a
diagnostic test on the memory, and have at least 256MB RAM
installed as a minimum too.
