Symantec firewall disables my e mail send/receive, I have 2000 Pro

Whenever I enable Norton Symantec firewall protection, it disables my
send/receive function on e mail. I've tried all the troubleshooting
suggestions in Outlook help.
What now?
 
You will need to either trust Outlook or grant Outlook access to the ports
required.
Symantec support and/or forums are the best to enquire to for this
(especially since they cause the problem).
