Symantec AntiVirus 8.0

The issue I am having is with virus definition updates. I
do not run my PC as administrator. Each time an update is
downloaded a pop up states there is an update to be loaded
and I must be an adminstrator of the machine to load it.
Naturally, the pop ups keep coming until I finally log off
and log back in as administrator.

Is there any way around this other than running the PC as
adminstrator or a user with adminstrator rights?
 
Possibly by granting sufficient file permissions for the user to the
location where the updates need to be installed.

Might be better to ask Symantec or one of the a/v newsgroups.
