sym_u3.sys error..

Hi...

I have this PC belonging to a fellow in the neighborhood, and during every
start it stops showing a message about a missing "SYM_U3.SYS" file.
I cannot even boot from a Windows CD.
What ever I try to do, this error message halts the start up process.

Is there a workaround available?

More info needed if you are looking for a solution?.
But here some steps to do:
1- Make sure this machine is clean from malwares and viruses by scanning.
2- Perform a clean boot to see which programs is causing this issue:

3- Look in the Event viewer for any error messages(X).
4- Look in Device Manager for a malfunctioning devices or conflict inIRQ.
